Hi guys!
I hope you're all well?
I've recently been trying to discover some new blog content to read as most of the bloggers I used to follow have now unfortunately stopped. Upon my browsing I came across the lovely Charlotte who's 'Travel Bucket List' particularly made me want to write my own.
Travel is something I definitely want to do in life (even if it means going on week long holidays a few times a year to different locations). Having known a few people who have done it in the past, it's always made me lust to follow in their footsteps. I thought I'd share with you ten places I want to travel to!
New York City
New York City has been my dream destination for as long as I can remember. Although I hear so many stories about how 'overrated' it is and how it's 'just another London', I still absolutely need to go! Everything about New York City amazes me; the lights, central park, the famous buildings and most importantly.. it's the home to Broadway! I'm a huge fan of theatre/musicals so to visit the home of all of these amazing shows would be so cool! I'd especially like to go around Christmas/New Year!
Amsterdam
So, hands up, who's been obsessed with the thought of Amsterdam since reading/watching The Fault In Our Stars! Just me? Okay. I love city breaks and Amsterdam looks like the perfect location for a long weekend. It's so picturesque and I love the look of all the buildings and pretty canals. Visiting Anne Frank's house is also on my 'bucket list' so a trip here needs to happen asap!
Thailand
Thailand is a place I've only recently become slightly obsessed with. It honestly looks like paradise. The beaches and scenery are just beyond perfect in every way! I think it'd be the perfect 'honeymoon' destination. One thing I'd love to do in Thailand would be to volunteer at an elephant shelter! I'm also a big fan of Thai food (their veggie dishes are a win).
Iceland
So, I'm a self confessed lover of winter/all things cold. I don't work well in heat.. it's a fact. Iceland seems like the perfect destination for me because it's a 'winter getaway'. There's something quite magical sounding about Iceland. Seeing the Northen Light's would definitely be one to tick off the bucket list as would whale watching! It also just so happens to feature in my favourite TV show, Game Of Thrones! Perfect.
Canada
Canada has always looked like such a beautiful destination with so much beautiful nature to see. It's a place I'd love to visit in Autumn/Winter. I think it'd be great to stay in a lake house for a week all cosied up by a fire after swimming in a lake/taking little boat trips! I also hear that Canadians are some of the friendliest people. Thumbs up for winning that title!
Australia
Australia is probably a location on most 'travel dreamers' lists. Although I'd probably keel over from heat exhaustion, it's still a place I think looks/sounds great! Since my skydive last year, I've decided that if I were to do another one (which crazily enough, I do) it would have to be in Australia. Whilst I'd probably end up landing in a tarantula's nest (or something equally as terrifying knowing my luck), I think it'd be a beautiful location to see. I'm also a little bit obsessed with Aussie accents (shh!).
Santorini
Santorini seems to have been a top pick for so many blogger's/Youtuber's this year and all of the lovely videos/photos has made me want to go too! Again, it's such a picturesque looking town in Greece with lots of lovely shopping/food stalls, old buildings, hidden caves and beautiful blue seas. Greece is also cat crazy which will always be enough to convince me to travel there!
Berlin
Whilst Berlin seems to have become stag/hen do central, I do think it looks like an amazing city to visit purely for its history. One place in particular I'd like to visit is the Sachsenhausen concentration camps. Whilst this may seem slightly morbid to some, I find this particular part of history very interesting (and of course heartbreaking) so it's a place I'd like to see.
Egypt
Again, whilst I probably wouldn't be able to handle the heat of a place literally located amongst a desert, Egypt is a place I'd love to go because of its history. The main attraction? The Pyramids of course! If you've ever watched Karl Pilkington's 'An Idiot Abroad' you've probably been put off visiting for life but I'm still maintaining the idea that I'd like to go for myself.
New Zealand
Last but definitely not least is New Zealand. Every person I've ever spoken to that's been here has loved it. They've also mentioned how lovely the people are (always a bonus for me). It looks like a beautiful country which is home to some of the biggest and well kept animal sanctuaries (hello, massive animal lover speaking). Queenstown in particular looks/sounds great!
I could probably go on forever but I decided to narrow my dream locations down to just ten!
Let me know if you've ever been to any of these locations and if so, what did you think? Where would you like to go on your travels?
Thanks for reading!
