Review: theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Palette!

Hi guys!

I hope you're all well?

I love Twitter! It's a great way to make friends, keep in contact with your fave brands and share all of the sordid details of your life in 140 characters or less (oh, the struggle). However, it's also a great way to discover amazing giveaways.. and that's exactly what I did!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to have won theBalm Cosmetics Twitter competition! The prize included their Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette which I'm super chuffed about. As I'd not tried the brand before this, I thought I'd share with you my thoughts and show you some swatches in case you were interested in checking them out!

So - meet Matt(e)!

The Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette consists of 9 very lovely matte eye shadows. These range from dark to light nudes and are perfect for day and night time use! These are all contained in a very compact set with a large mirror and magnetic shutter case/sleeve (perfect for travelling with). The product weighs in at 21.6g and is made in the USA.

One thing I really liked about this product was the packaging! It has a real 'retro' feel to it and reminds me of Benefit and Soap & Glory's style. There are also some elements of humour throughout their packaging e.g - a dating profile of 'Matt(e)' on the back of the palette and all of the shadows being named after different Matt's. I really like the thought process behind all of this and it makes the experience that bit quirkier/fun!

(Left to right - Matt Ahmed, Matt Reed, Matt Evans, Matt Moskowitz, Matt Kumar, Matt Lopez, Matt Rossi, Matt Thomas and Matt Lin)

Despite all of the shades being matte there is a VERY slight glitter to them which isn't very noticeable but can be built up depending on which look you'd prefer. There's a really good selection of Beige's, Pink's, Purple's and a matte Black to play with.

All of the eye shadows had a really good colour pay off and didn't need much building up at all (the above photos had 1-2 swipes of product each). My favourite shades are: Matt Evans (a goldish beige), Matt Kumar (a bricky red/brown) and Matt Thomas (a dusty pink).

I also recently found out that these eye shadows can be used as eye liners too which pretty much makes this product a great all around palette!

Overall, I'm very impressed with my first experience of theBalm Cosmetics and I'm definitely eager to trial out some more of their products soon.

The Meet Matt(e) palette retails for £37.50 and is available from various online retailers such as ASOSBirchbox as well as theBalm Cosmetics themselves!

Have you tried any of theBalm products? If so, which one's would you like me to meet? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

*Please note that although this was gifted to me via a Twitter contest held by theBalm Cosmetics, all opinions are my own and I was not asked to review this. Thank you very much to theBalm Cosmetics for hosting a fantastic giveaway*
