Review: Soap & Glory 5-in-1 Micellar Water!

Hi guys!

I hope you're all well?

Before re-joining the 'blogging world', I'm ashamed to say that I never truly looked after my skin. I had next to no skincare routine, I used the same products over and over again and I was guilty of committing the biggest skincare sin of all - sleeping with my make-up on *gasp*!

However, I thankfully got my butt into gear and decided that it was about time I looked after my skin (after all, I'm only gonna have it for the rest of my life). I've tried different cleansers, lotions and potions and have finally come up with a routine that I'm satisfied with.

One product in particular that I've found to be a key part of my skincare routine is Micellar Water. These seem to have been all the rage this year and I honestly, really get why. Not only is this product beneficial for the skin but it's also great for those of us who are slightly lazy when it comes to make-up removal. Bingo!

So with my new found love of Micellar Water and my old never ending love for Soap & Glory, imagine my excitement when I came across the 'Total Drama Clean 5-in-1 Magnetizing Micellar Make Up Remover' (that was a mouthful!). Without further ado, here are my thoughts on this product!

The Soap & Glory 'Total Drama Clean 5-in-1 Magnetizing Micellar Make Up Remover' contains 350ml of product and costs £6 from Boots. This particular product claims to cleanse, tone, melt make up, dissolve dirt, smoothes and soothes the skin. It's suitable for all skin types and contains cucumber and aloe vera leaf juice, peach and goji berry extracts and vitamins A and C.

Micellar Water is really easy to use. You simply grab a cotton pad, pour the product onto the pad and swipe over your face and neck - no rinsing required. This product removes my make-up so much quicker than any other Micellar Water I've tried in the past. I only need two cotton pads to remove all of my war paint and my skin feels lovely and fresh after use. I've also noticed my skin is a lot clearer and I haven't had as many blemishes since using this. The product is really gentle on my skin and moisturises just enough without leaving my skin looking oily.

The scent is really nice and I'm a massive fan of cucumber smells in skincare. It's fresh and clean smelling and not too perfumey for my skin despite all of the fruity ingredients used. The packaging is also really pretty and looks great on my dressing table.

Overall, I'm so pleased with this product from Soap & Glory. Whilst it is a little pricier than some Micellar Water's, I personally feel it's worth it as it's left my skin looking really nice.

Let me know what your thoughts are on the Micellar Water hype. Do they work for you or are you not too keen?

Thanks for reading!

  1. I've not heard of this before! I adore the Soap and Glory 4 in 1 Cleanser, Peaches and Clean I believe it's called. I use that on an evening and I lather it on my face and wash it off in the morning. Since using it my skin has been so clear so I think I might have to invest in this water to also add into my routine (which is based on all Soap and Glory products - addict!!). The product design is just so pretty too I find, and all of their products always smell nice!

Please could you check out my new blog and first blog post?

    1. Glad I'm not the only one! This is perfect 'lazy girl' skincare item because not only does it remove make-up but it also acts as a toner too (as well as countless other things) x

  5. OKAY SO... first of all your blog layout & your photos are so on point, please can you just quit your job and become my blog photographer? Hey.. Christina where are you going? Christina...?

I have been debating trying this but I had such a bad reaction the L'Oreal one (like actual hives I swear to god) I don't know if I dare risk it! This is seriously swaying me though! Have you tried the no 7 hot cloth cleanser btw? I think I remember you saying you got it with your Mam but I could be completely making this up haha. I think the smell of the no 7 cleanser is dodge but it removes makeup really well without aggravating so I really like it! PS the £5 vouchers are back in, if you did want anything or you have a little shopping list or anything to run by me ;)

    1. Haha!!! Believe me that sounds pretty tempting ;) Thanks so much, glad you like the layout and photos (although yours are fab too).

Such a shame to hear about your reaction to the L'Oreal micellar water :( If only they did a slightly smaller/cheaper version to try out like Garnier do. It was me who tried the No 7 hot cloth cleanser. I absolutely LOVE it (it's my new favourite hot cloth product), it literally feels like cream! Thanks so much for letting me know! :D x

  6. Ah also guilty of sleeping with my makeup on.. dun dun duuuun! But I adore Micellar Water. I currently use one from Garnier & wouldn't ever dream of going back to makeup wipes! Soap & Glory are one of my favourite brands so I'll have to keep an eye out for this one! xx

  7. SO guilty of sleeping with my makeup on!!! I have always used makeup wipes for this purpose, but everyone seems to love Garnier's Micellar Water for the same purpose so I was wondering whether to give it shot. I'd have to look for Soap & Glory products at a local mall, they're aren't usually widely available here. I love their packaging!

  10. When one brand does something it's always like a domino effect haha. x Micellar water, contour kits, watery foundations, lip crayons etc. Great post.
