Product Empties #1!

Hi guys!

I hope you're all well?

First of all, hellooo new blog layout! I've been wanting to re-vamp my blog for a while now and make it look a little more 'professional'. I hope you like it (I'd love to hear your thoughts?).

Secondly, here I am with my very first 'product empties' post. I've been seeing these posts crop up left, right and centre over the blogging community and I, for one think they're a brilliant idea. Not only do these posts give you a general idea of how good/bad a product is, they're also damn well motivational and actually make me finish products that I've got before buying/starting new one's - Lord knows I need all the willpower I can get!

Here's what products I've got through over the last month or so!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (with pump) - £30

I first tried this product when it came free with Glamour magazine a few years ago. It sat abandoned in my 'things to use' pile until I finally felt it was time to give it a go. I used the freebie every day and ended up more than a little upset when it eventually ran out. With my Christmas money last year I decided to blow all of my money on the full sized product and be done with it. Little did I know that this product would last me nearly TEN months (with everyday use). Needless to say I think £30 is now a brilliant price for such a long lasting product! The product itself is great for my oily skin and moisturises well enough without leaving my skin looking and feely oily. I love it!

Would I re-purchase? I already have! It was in duty free and I simply couldn't resist a bargain!

Listerine Advanced White Multi-action Mouthwash - £5.60

I've really been into teeth whitening products as of late and I decided to give this product a go. It was on special offer in Boots and I ended up getting it for about £2. The product was nice and minty and didn't sting my mouth like some mouth washes do. I did notice my teeth were a little brighter after use but the stubborn stains I was hoping to remove unfortunately didn't go. Whilst the product was quite good, I do think this is a little on the pricey side (especially since I've recently re-purchased two different Listerine products for the same price as just one of these).

Would I re-purchase? Yes, but only if the product was on special offer again.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline - £9.99

I'm quite fussy when it comes to mascaras and there only ever seems to be two brands which I always return to when re-purchasing them (L'Oreal and Max Factor). I decided to try out L'Oreal's new feline mascara in the hopes that I'd find a new holy grail. This mascara has a curved wand which makes applying the product much easier as it gets in all the nooks and crannies! The product itself is great for thickening and lengthening the lashes (a serious need when you don't have many lashes to play with like me). I really, really love this product and can't recommend it enough!

Would I re-purchase? I already have (twice)!

L'Oreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss - £5.99

Anyone who knows me will know that this is my all time 'holy grail' make-up item. So imagine my absolute heartbreak when I found out that L'Oreal had discontinued this eyeliner and replaced it with something else. How am I do my trademark winged eyeliner now, L'Oreal? I've luckily stocked up on lots of these products and if you can, definitely try it out!

Would I re-purchase? 100% yes - if they were available to buy again!

Lush Cosmetics The Comforter Shower Cream - £9.75

It should come as no surprise that I love Lush. The Comforter bubblebar is also one of my favourite products so when I heard that it was now available to buy in the form of a shower cream, I had to get my hands on it. This product certainly didn't dissapoint! It's fruity, sweet and smells amazing on your skin both in and out of the shower. Whilst I do realise it is a little on the pricey side, it is a lovely treat every now and again!

Would I re-purchase - Maybe only on pay day (every once in a while)!

Lush Cosmetics Lord Of Misrule Shower Scream - £4.95

This is a limited edition Halloween product which again was inspired by a bath product (bath bomb). I'm a little ashamed to admit that at first I really didn't like this scent. I thought it was too spicy and not sweet enough for my liking. However, my opinion totally changed when I actually used it in the shower. The product was really sweet and not too spicy at all. It smelt amazing on my skin afterwards and I felt soft all over. It smells of patchouli oil and black pepper, a strange but lovely scent!

Would I re-purchase? If Lush decided to bring this back next year, I would!

Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Scrub - £37

Okay, hear me out. Yes this product is a stupid amount of money for a body scrub - but oh my, it smells so good! This product is thick and milky in consistency and has actual grains of dessicated coconut and chunks of almond in which leave your skin feeling so smooth. The amazing scent lasts for hours after use. I only used this product on special occasions (before nights out or special pamper sessions) and I felt very luxurious once doing so.

Would I re-purchase? No, simply because of the price (however, I would definitely add it to my Christmas/Birthday wish list).

Sure Invisible 48h Black & White Deodorant -£1.99

There's honestly not too much I can say about this product other than, it does the job! It doesn't show up when wearing dark clothes which is always a plus and it keeps me feeling and smelling fresh!

Would I re-purchase? Yes (but only because it's a necessity).

Soap & Glory The Ultimelt Hot Cloth Cleanser - £10

Hot cloth cleansers are my preferred method of make-up removal. They're quick, effortless and do the job well. This product in particular has been a staple in the Greenland household for about a year now and I highly recommend it. These are nearly always on special offer in Boots which makes them really affordable. The product also comes with a muslin cloth to use alongside the product.

Would I re-purchase? Yes, yes, yes!

No 7 Beautiful Skin Face Wipes - £7

These were actually given to me by my friend/fellow beauty blogger Emma. These wipes are very wet/soapy which makes make-up removal a lot faster than most other wipes. They smell fresh and leave my skin feeling smooth. These are a little on the pricey side and ordinarily I wouldn't contemplate buying 30 wipes for nearly a tenner! However, Boots bring out £5 off vouchers on a regular basis which bring the price down to just £2 (much better).

Would I re-purchase? Yes, but only if I had a £5 off voucher.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Wipes - £1.50

These wipes aren't really too wet and I find you'd need to use quite a lot of them to remove a full face of make-up. They do smell lovely and refreshing and they are very cheap if you're on a budget. Unfortunately that's really the only good thing I can say about them.

Would I re-purchase? No.

Yankee Candle Peach Smoothie Candle - £12.95

Whilst this isn't a 'beauty' product, candles do play a large part in my pamper sessions/chill out time so I decided to include it in this post. I'm a big fan of Yankee candles and I love anything peach scented! I was lucky enough to receive two of these for my birthday in May and I used them both up last week. This smells absolutely lovely and I did have to try and resist eating it on numerous occasions. It's a very fruity smell which now reminds me of spring/summer!

Would I re-purchase? Yes, but not in the winter months.

Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette - £54

This was given to me as a gift last Christmas by my Aunt and Uncle. I really loved the original Prada Candy so I was excited to try out the 'Florale' version. Whilst I don't tend to opt for very florally perfumes normally, I did find this subtle enough to enjoy wearing. It's definitely a spring/summer perfume as it's light and fresh smelling. It didn't last too long on the skin being an eau de toilette which was a shame considering how pricey it is.

Would I re-purchase? No (but I would re-use it if bought as a gift).

Jo Malone London Pear & Freesia Body and Hand Lotion (sample) - £38

I'm a big fan of Jo Malone London and I often go for free hand massages at their stores. The lovely Emily in the Bluewater store gave me a little pot of the Pear & Freesia body and hand lotion to try out for free. Pear & Freesia is my favourite scent at Jo Malone and I've gone through countless bottles of their perfume. This cream is a much more subtle version of the perfume which is really nice when using it on your body and hands. It's very moisturising but does take a while to sink into your skin as it's quite a thick product. Whilst I don't love it quite as much as my perfume, it is still a good product.

Would I re-purchase? No, the full sized product is a little on my pricey side for me. I'd rather splash the cash on their perfumes instead.

Montagne Juenesse Banana & Honey Masque - £1

I'm a big fan of the Montagne Juenesse face masque's as they're affordable and do a good job. However, this particular product I found was a little disappointing. Unlike the other MJ masques this one left my skin looking quite dull and not feeling as smooth as I would have liked. However, it smelt lovely and it was really cheap so overall I'm not too upset.

Would I re-purchase? No.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my product empties. Let me know if you've finished up any good/bad products recently and did you love any enough to re-purchase?

Thanks for reading!

  4. I absolutely love your blog layout! I've been wanting to play with mine recently too as I feel so bored of it but I'm not good at anything like that haha. The comforter bubble bar is my favorite lush product too and so I really can't wait to try this shower gel out! Do you know if it is just exclusive to oxford street though? I couldn't find it in my store and was really disappointed. Oh well, I'm sure i'll get my hands on it at some point.
